According to multiple sources, Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez has been placed on the restricted list this afternoon. He'll remain on the restricted list for two days without pay. The team is citing disciplinary reasons, but there's always the chance further action could be taken. Ryota Igarashi is on his way from Triple-A Buffalo.
A source tells Andy Martino of the New York Daily News that no additional discipline will be handed down on Francisco Rodriguez by major league baseball. The team is expected to send Rodriguez for anger management classes, but it sounds like he will rejoin the team very shortly.
