According to SNY, the Mets have placed Fernando Martinez on the 7-day minor league DL with a sore right knee.
The 21 yr old Martinez just cannot stay healthy. The former #1 prospect keeps slipping down the Mets depth charts. It's tough to give up on a guy who is only 21 yrs of age, but you have to start to wonder whether he will ever pan out into the player the team thought he would.
