According to Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes, the nationals have reached an agreement with Cuban RHP Yuniesky Maya. According to the report Maya will undergo a physical some time next week.
Opinion: Back in the winter during the free-agent period it was reported that the Mets and White Sox were the favorites to land Maya. He finally became a free-agent last month, however it was not reported that the Mets have had any contacts with his agents. Maya reportedly has 5 pitches in his repertoire and throws between 88-92 MPH.
