According to Chris De Luca of the Chicago Sun Times, trade talks have heated up for Cubs LHP Ted Lilly and a deal can be completed by the end of the weekend. De Luca says that the Mets continue to show the most interest in Lilly although the Tigers are turning their attention now to Lilly since they feel the price for Dan Haren is too high.
Opinion: I am not opposed to adding Lilly. I do however feel that Jake Westbrook or Brett Myers is a better fit. Lilly is in the final season of a 4 year contract after which he will become a Type A free agent netting whatever team he is on at the end of the season two first round draft picks.
