Rumor:

According to AOL Fanhouse's Ed Price, the Mets scouted Jeremy Guthrie's start on Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Opinion: Although considered to be the ace of the Baltimore O's staff, he has been far from impressive this year and I believe has reached his peak of his professional career. I would advise Omar Minaya to pass on Guthrie and concentrate on someone more consistent such as Ted Lilly or Brett Myers if he is not going to add the payroll that a Roy Oswalt would add.

  1. He's nothing to write home about. Other than adding some depth to your rotation as a guy who can throw some innings and is usually pretty healthy; It's not a move to get you over the top.
