R.A. R.A.

The New York Mets beat the St.Louis Cardinals today by the score of 4-0 taking the rubber game of the 3 game series. R.A Dickey was fantastic today, which is not out of the ordinary this year. He was in complete control all day. His knuckeball was dancing all over the place. With today's performance his record improves to 7-4 and lowers his ERA to 2.32. Dickey went 8 1/3 innings, while giving up only 4 hits, 2 BB's, and stuck out 2. He got into a little bit of trouble in the 9th by allowing a leadoff single and a walk, but Francisco Rodriguez came in to get out of the jam for his 22nd save of the season.

Ike Davis provided all the offense the Mets would need today by hitting a 3-run HR in the Bot of the 3rd. It was Davis' 15th HR of the year, tying him with David Wright for the team lead. Angel Pagan had another fantastic game going 2-3 and scoring 2 runs.

Wow, R.A. Dickey has been a god send to this team. He just goes out and takes care of business. He has been the Mets most consistent pitcher all year and you have to start to think about him being a lock for the rotation next year. I know that's hard to say about a 35 year old pitcher but age does not really matter when it comes to the knuckleball.

This was exactly the type of game the Mets needed today after last night's very tough loss. They came out and played good solid baseball. They got great pitching and Ike Davis provided the big hit. Well done today gentleman. Man, if only they would have pulled last night's game out, the vibe around the club would be so much better. But hey, taking 2 out of 3 from the Cardinals is not too shabby.

The Mets welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks into town tomorrow for a 3 game series as they look for some payback from their horrible 3 game series in Arizona last week.
