According to Kevin Burkhardt, baseball sources say that the Mets plan on keeping their coaching staff intact for the moment.
If the Mets plan on saving their season, I feel a coaching change is necessary now. I think replacing Manuel now is the only way this team will catch a spark. Teams often respond well to middle of the season coaching changes. The Mets did so when Willie Randolph was fired and the Rockies did so when Clint Hurdle was fired. I think a change of manager can be a last chance shot of turning this season around and competing in October.
