Post-Game Wrap-Up: Mets 1 Phillies 0 - RA RA

The Mets defeated the Phillies tonight by the score of 1-0. R.A. Dickey was brilliant tonight. The knuckleball was dancing all over the place as he stymied the Phillies all night long. The Mets offense once again was stagnant only able to scratch out 1 run off of Cole Hamels.

R.A. Dickey and Cole Hamels both threw complete games. Hamels gave up the only blemish of the evening, an RBI 2B deep to LF by Carlos Beltran.

What a great game. Hamels and Dickey were dealing tonight.

Hamels went 8 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 2BB, 8 K's.

Dickey went 9IP, 0 Runs, 1 H, 1BB, 7 K's. His only hit came in the 6th inning by non other than Cole Hamels, the opposing pitcher. Dickey only faced 2 hitters above the minimum.

This was the second straight complete game shut out for the Mets (Santana) and the second time the Mets have defeated Hamels 1-0 in the last two weeks.

This is the first time since June 22-23 a span of 44 games that the Mets have won back to back games.

The Mets will look to "extend" their winning streak to 3 games tomorrow as the Mets take on the Phillies at 7:10PM. Starting pitchers will be LHP Pat Misch making his first start of the season for the Mets VS RHP Roy Halladay.
