Commercial: Tom Seaver

In between inning of last night's Mets game, I switched over to the Cin VS St. Louis game to see if there was going to be anymore confrontation after the bench clearing brawl that ensued. The game however happened to be in a commercial break. The last commercial before returning from break was an advirtisment for Reds baseball and just like the Mets do, they tried promoting "winning baseball" by showing quotes from former players. The first quote got me upset. It came from Tom Seaver and said."There are only two places in the league, First place or No place." Tom Seaver is considered the greatest player in Mets history, and rightfully so. He played the most games in his career as a Met and led them to one of the most miraculous World Series Championships in the history of MLB. He was even given the nickname "The Franchise" within the Mets organization. When I saw the quote it got me thinking, with all the history and tradition of the "Big Red Machine", the Reds had to use a quote from Tom Seaver? This really bothered me. Use a quote from Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, or Johnny Bench. Not our Franchise. Does this bother anyone else? Feel free to state your opinion.
