Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reports that free agent right-hander Pedro Martinez will not pitch this season.
Opinion: I am a little upset by this because I love Pedro Martinez. I love his intensity and his baseball IQ. He was a big part of turning the franchise around when he signed after the 2004 baseball season. He was probably the smartest pitcher I have ever seen. He can probably still get outs based on his baseball knowledge, but the "stuff" is just not there anymore. If this is really the end of Pedro's amazing career I wish him luck with his private life and cannot wait to see him inducted into the Hall of Fame in 5 years. Thanks for the memories in Orange and Blue Pedro.
