The Mets have optioned INF Ruben Tejada to Triple-A Buffalo and have activated 2B Luis Castillo from the 15 Day DL.
I am happy to welcome back Luis Castillo as it solidifies a position at 2B that has been a revolving door since he originally went on the DL back in early June. He adds additional speed to a lineup that already has a ton of it. Expect Castillo to be slotted in the 8th Spot while the Mets continue to ride Angel Pagan in the 2 hole. Ruben Tejada played sparkling defense in his near two months with the Mets, however, he struggled at the plate. Only 20 years old, Tejada will go back to Triple-A Buffalo where he will gt rgular at-bats as the everyday SS-2B. He shold be recalled in Sept if not earlier, if another Mets INF goes down.
