As I tune in daily to listen to the Mets broadcast, I marvel at the intelligence of Ron Darling. He is so insightful and can basically call a game from the broadcast booth. A former graduate of Yale University, Darling is extremely intelligent within baseball and without. Considering the way Darling describes the game from a pitchers standpoint and his obvious intellect, I have always thought that he would be a fantastic pitching coach. He has the game experience, the knowledge, and the gall that it takes. I have never heard him say that it would be something he would like to do, and I know he does a great job in the booth, but I wonder what his feelings on this would be. If anyone has access to Ron Darling, please ask the question.
