According to Ken Rosenthal of foxsports.com, the Yankees, Mets, Padres, Red Sox, and Giants have expressed atleast a "passing interest" in Jose Guillen.
Opinion: Once again, this rumor makes no sense to me. If true, the Mets are looking to imporve their team with the wrong type of players. Although I have always like Guillen's talent as a player, he has always been a headache to every organization he has played with. He is known as a bad character guy that always disrupts the clubhouse. This is not a guy this team needs right now. I know they are struggling for offense, however there are better ways that they could improve their team while not disrupting the clubhouse.
I do feel he would fit perfectly with a team such as the Red Sox. The Sox are desperately looking for offense as well and Boston's clubhouse has the mix of players that could tame a personality such a Guillen's let by Tito Francona.
